Despite the discovery of offshore oilfields, Terengganu with its fine beaches remains a holiday maker's dream. Terengganu is one of the Malaysian states, which is endowed with a wealth of charming and refreshing natural landscapes. She has beaches, exotic islands, lush virgin tropical jungles, quaint fishing villages, and dazzling waterfalls. Her islands are among the most picturesque and fascinating.

Terengganu's history goes back to as far as the 1st Century and has long been an important area of Malay settlement.Throughout that time up to the present day, Terengganu has been ruled by 16 Sultans.

 

 

Pulau Payar at Langkawi
 

The Payar group of islands lies approximately 16 nautical miles south of Langkawi and 15 nauticla miles west of Kuala Kedah located at the mainland. The islands comprises of Pulau Payar, Pulau Kaca, Pulau Lembu and Pulau Segantang which are all gazetted marine park.
Located at the opening of the Straits of Malacca towards the Andaman sea, the visibility of the waters are exceptionally clear thus making it one of the premier dives and snorkelling sites in Peninsula Malaysia.
Visitors to the island will definitely marvel at the diversity of the marine life here and also the enchanting coral reefs.Just go for a swim, snorkel and dive or simply lie back and relax on the sandy beach.There are two hiking trails in Pulau Payar where one can explore its fascinating terrestrial flora and fauna.

 

Pulau Tioman

You can spend hours just languishing on the white pearly beach, looking up the sun for the perfect tan. Popular beaches include the ones around the villages of Tekek, Genting, and Salang. A walk on one of these beaches at sunset is truly enchanting and will simply take your breath away.
